The Strand is a 10-story mixed-use high-rise featuring retail and commercial spaces on the lower levels, mid-level parking, and office spaces on the upper floors. The building presents unique challenges for fire services, as they must access two entrances: one on The Strand and another on Augustus Place. FENZ mandates effective communication and connectivity from both access points, ensuring seamless coverage across all floors. The project must adhere to NZS4541:2020, NZS4512:2010, and the fire report, including evacuation strategies. This initiative tests the expertise of fire protection and fire engineering professionals.
