We engage early with project teams to understand the building, the risk profile, and the commercial drivers. Early involvement allows us to establish clear design parameters and reduce the likelihood of redesign, variation, and rework, particularly within design-build environments.
We work closely with developers, project managers, MEP consultants, architects, fire engineers, and contractors to ensure fire protection systems are coordinated and aligned with the wider building strategy.

Meet the Director
Fortis is led by Brendon Turner, Director and Fire Protection Consultant.
Brendon brings over 20 years of industry experience across fire protection design, integrated building services, and complex project delivery. His background spans commercial, residential, industrial, public-sector, and sensitive environments throughout New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.
Brendon is known for his disciplined approach to engineering, strong understanding of compliance frameworks, and practical insight gained from years of hands-on project involvement. He has led and coordinated specialist fire protection teams delivering technically demanding projects where risk, performance, and clarity are critical.
Leadership at Fortis is hands-on. Brendon remains closely involved in projects to ensure technical quality, clear communication, and consistent delivery from early concept through to detailed design.
As Fortis continues to grow, the consultancy will be supported by a team of experienced fire protection specialists aligned to the same standards of precision, accountability, and performance.
